English lang. teacher since 19. Now a scholarship awardee.
My love of learning has always been in line with the spirit to share my knowledge. Over the past seven years, I have been teaching English to young people from diverse backgrounds. This experience has allowed me to reap priceless rewards as I manage to shape young minds, help them realise their potentials, moreover inculcating them with the love of learning English.
Being a teacher, I always ensure that I build and maintain a positive, constructive relationship with my students as it is essential for the success of learning. I position myself not only as a source of knowledge, but also a friend for my students, and even a sister. As a result of my dedication, last year I was promoted as the Vice Head of D3 English Programme at Maranatha Christian University and this year I was awarded a full scholarship from University of Westminster to study English Language at master's level.
At church, I have been a children and youth leader for seven years and I was PIC in community services such as fund raising, giving free medical check-up for the less fortunate and other charity programmes. I have led adolescents in small groups, taking part in teaching and leadership seminars and two years ago I was elected a treasurer and leader of Sunday School service.
I started tutoring when I was 20. Since then, I have gained experience in both one-to-one and small-group tutoring, either privately done or with a language centre. Five years ago I began my formal teaching career at a junior high school, which continued to senior high school and presently at university level.
